Currently, our number of volunteers is at an ALL TIME LOW. We are URGENTLY seeking your help! Please spread the word to friends, family, youth groups, scouts, senior clubs, etc. so that we can grow our volunteer base to meet the needs of our upcoming fall programs and events. Your help is needed now more than ever. Contact Cam at [email protected] for opportunities. Thank you!

Departments at Heritage Valley Health System utilize the service of volunteers. Donating their time and skills in a meaningful rewarding way, volunteers assist in meeting community health care needs by supporting staff efforts. By becoming part of the health system, volunteers also help to create and maintain in the community an understanding of Heritage Valley Health System and its services.  We recognize the desire for students to volunteer to learn more about health care as well as to obtain community service hours for school.  Students are welcome to apply for summer or semester positions.  If you would like to be considered for such a volunteer position, you must meet certain entry requirements: Minimum age is 15 years old (must have completed 9th grade), Completion of an application, Basic health clearance, Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, General and departmental orientation, including an emphasis on patient privacy, confidentiality, safety and customer service (provided).  Click HERE for more information and to apply.

Elliott Acres is a certified therapeutic riding center for those with physical, intellectual, and emotional disabilities. The riding season runs from April through November every year. General hours of operation are Tuesdays 4pm-8pm and Saturdays 9am–1pm. During those hours they require the help of volunteers to assist with helping our riders and our horses. Anyone 14 or older who enjoys being around horses, helping those with disabilities or doing handy work, is encouraged to volunteer! They will be holding their annual volunteer orientation day on Saturday April 15th from 10am-12pm for new and current volunteers interested in assisting in equine assisted therapy.  For more information, call (724) 991-2477 or email [email protected] or [email protected]. If you’re between the ages of 14–18, volunteer with the science center for an experience in an environment like no other! Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, make some great friends, and earn references for your college application or your job hunt – all while giving back to the community.  We accept new teen volunteers twice annually: in Summer and during the School Year. Our departments have differing minimum commitments beginning at 50 hours for our Summer Teen volunteers and 100 hours for School Year Teen volunteers.  Click HERE for more info!
