St. James Preschool: A Place to Learn and Grow

St. James Preschool offers:

3 Year Old Program
The 3 year old program is designed to introduce children to school. 
The focus is on building social skills, learning through small and large group activities, establishing a routine, and engaging in free play. 
The program also offers the children activities in pre-reading and pre-math.

Schedule:
Tuesdays and Thursdays
8:15 – 11:30 a.m.
End of August-Beginning of June

4 Year Old Program
The 4 year old program is designed to prepare children to enter Kindergarten.
In addition to social and motor skills, the children are involved in experiences that build upon literacy and math.

Schedule:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
8:15 – 11:30 a.m.
End of August-Beginning of June

4-5 Year Old Program
The 4-5 year old program is designed especially for children who do not turn 5 in time for the September 1st Kindergarten cut off. 
The schedule helps to prepare children for a 5-day school week and provides a balance of academics, enrichment activities, and play. This will provide children with the skills needed to succeed in Kindergarten.

Mondays through Fridays
8:15 am - 2:00 pm
End of August-Beginning of June

Library Time:
Children go to the library and are able to choose a book to take home for the week.

Gym Time
Children go to the gym twice a month for gym class.

St. James Preschool is rooted in the Catholic faith. Emphasis is placed upon: experiencing a deepening sense of wonder and awe by exploring the beauty of creation, and by recognizing our special qualities and the importance of God's creation; projecting a deepened sense of the importance of prayer and celebration; fostering an awareness of God, values, others and spiritual development; providing experiences for treating others with respect and being treated with respect; and developing a reverence for Sacred Scripture.
