Quaker Valley High School
2019 Commencement Speakers & Poet Laureate Submissions Due by March 28
QVHS will select several honored speakers and one Poet Laureate to participate in the June 10th graduation ceremony. Students must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to be eligible for consideration. Speeches and poems must be submitted electronically to Mrs. Riccobelli by Thursday, March 28. Please review the letter and rubrics below for the submission timeline, speech and poem criteria, as well as scoring criteria.
Quaker Valley High School Counselors are working with students in class to review graduation requirements and the course offerings for 2019-20. Students are encouraged to think about their priorities and their co-curricular, athletic, and community commitments so they can select a course load that is balanced and allows for family, social, and personal time. Students should talk with their teachers, counselors, and parents about the courses that are best suited to meet their needs. Please refer to the scheduling letter below for more information and the scheduling process & timeline .
In an effort to increase student awareness of the opportunities in the world of work and how to connect with them, QVHS is hosting a series of conversations called Work & Lunch. Professionals from various career areas are invited to engage in conversation with students about what they do and what pathways led them there. Professionals do not need to generate a presentation, but can simply come, share their stories, and answer student questions. Students have the opportunity to sign up for Work & Lunch sessions based on their career interests and curiosities. Students in the junior class are also participating in a Job Shadow experience. If you are interested in signing up to share your experiences during a Work & Lunch Session or hosting a student for a job shadow, please complete this form.
The following Work & Lunch Sessions are up-coming. Students, Sign Up Here.
