The attached “Understanding the Act 158 Graduation Pathways” screencast explains how Pennsylvania Act 158 of 2018 affects state graduation requirements for QV students, beginning with the class of 2023, and describes the pathway options. In addition to meeting Quaker Valley School District graduation requirements, students in the Class of 2023 and beyond must fulfill the criteria for one of five flexible pathways demonstrating college, career, and community readiness. Career Exploration=Wayfinding
At QVHS we see career exploration as WAYFINDING.  Wayfinding Abilities are the habits and skills you need to get big things done in life.  Wayfinding is the knowledge and capacity to successfully navigate college, career, and life opportunities and choices.  High school is an ideal time for students to consider their possible future selves. Now is the time for students to get involved in experiences that will build their skills and their resumes. Check out the Career Exploration homepage for links to career mentoring programs, internships, enrichment programs, events, pre-apprenticeships, service learning, and local job opportunities available now.  Additional opportunities will be added throughout the year as they become available! Contact Mrs. Amy Keller, Career Education Coordinator, at [email protected] with any questions.
