Quaker Valley School District is pleased to announce Forrest Beighley as the new head coach of the Quaker Valley High School varsity baseball program.
Beighley is already a familiar face within the program, having served as a QVHS varsity assistant coach last season. In that role, he contributed to daily practice organization, player development, offseason strength and conditioning, leadership and mental toughness development, and relationship-building throughout the program.
Beighley brings more than 25 years of experience in baseball as both a player and coach. A Beaver Falls native, he played baseball at Blackhawk High School before continuing his career at Geneva College, where he became the team’s starting shortstop.
During his collegiate career, Beighley earned All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference honors as a junior and senior and received conference Player of the Week, Hitter of the Week and Student-Athlete of the Week recognition. He finished his four-year career with 117 hits, 76 RBIs, 79 runs scored and a .305 batting average.
Following his playing career, Beighley moved into coaching, working with players at the youth, junior varsity and varsity levels. He spent three seasons with Steel City Select, working with 10U and 11U players, before joining Moon Area High School. From 2023-25, he served as Moon’s head junior varsity baseball coach, helping develop student-athletes and foster a program culture centered on preparation, teamwork and accountability.
Beighley joined the Quaker Valley coaching staff last season and quickly developed relationships with QV student-athletes while gaining firsthand knowledge of the program.
According to Beighley, his approach to coaching centers on four principles: develop the player, build up the person, respect the game, and compete to win.
Beighley emphasizes hard work, preparation, accountability and continual growth, encouraging players to strive to become a little better each day. Beyond developing baseball skills, he hopes to help student-athletes become confident, disciplined, resilient and selfless young people who can respond to adversity, support their teammates, and take pride in representing Quaker Valley.
For Beighley, some of the most important lessons baseball can teach extend well beyond wins, losses and statistics. He believes the relationships players build and the way they treat teammates, coaches, opponents and others throughout their experience will ultimately have a lasting impact.
Beighley earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in sports management from Geneva College. Outside of baseball, he works in recruiting and human resources for Global Media Services.
Quaker Valley looks forward to welcoming Beighley into his new leadership role and to the continued growth of the QVHS baseball program under his direction.
