School Director Recognition Month

January marks the annual observance of School Director Recognition Month, a time to honor the commitment and service of school board directors who champion public education across Pennsylvania. At the January 13, 2026 committees meeting, Quaker Valley's Board of School Directors were honored.

More than 85% of students in the commonwealth attend public schools including the 1800 enrolled at Quaker Valley. Together with the superintendent, the nine members of each local school board make thoughtful, often complex decisions that shape the educational experience and help every student discover their path to success.

To celebrate these dedicated public servants, Quaker Valley administrators recognized them during the Superintendent's Report and provided each member with a small token of their appreciation.

School board directors play a crucial role in our public education system. They devote countless hours—voluntarily to the demanding work of board governance, including budget approvals, policy adoption and long-term strategic planning. Their unwavering dedication and deep-rooted passion for their communities are truly commendable.
