Dr. Andrew Surloff Honored with Recent Awards

Dr. Andrew Surloff, Assistant Superintendent, at Quaker Valley School District was recently honored with two awards from the PASA and PASCD. Surloff was recognized by the Pa Association of School Administrators with the Leadership in Public Education Award; the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development recognized him with the Outstanding Supervision Leadership Award.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Andrew Surloff, Assistant Superintendent, on his well-deserved awards from PASA and PASCD,” said Superintendent Tammy A. Andreyko. “His exceptional contributions not only enrich Quaker Valley but also stand as a testament to his outstanding dedication and leadership, making us immensely proud to have him represent our QV community on such esteemed stage. Public education is better because of people like Andrew!”

Surloff was selected to receive the PASA Leadership in Public Education Award which is an award for exemplary service to public education in Pennsylvania is presented to administrations who demonstrate commitment to school administration as a profession, to public education, and to one's colleagues, including participation in and leadership with the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators.

“I was humbled and honored to receive these awards from two of the most respected educational associations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It matters a lot to me that both organizations noticed my work and believed it to be worthy of this level of recognition,” said Surloff. “I am also grateful to all of the administrators and faculty at Quaker Valley who are the implementers of so much of what these awards recognize. I accept these awards on behalf of all our fine educators at Quaker Valley.” 

The PASCD award recognizes a Pennsylvania ASCD member who has made a significant contribution in the area of supervision. Dr. Surloff is responsible for the supervision, direction, coordination, and evaluation of all District principals and other assigned staff.

Surloff’s contract with Quaker Valley was recently renewed at the October 30, 2023 School Board Legislative Meeting. This contract spans five years, 2024-2029.

Dr. Surloff has served in a variety of capacities throughout the District, beginning his career with Quaker Valley as a student intern. Surloff has served in his role as Assistant Superintendent since 2014. As Assistant Superintendent, he is responsible for overseeing and implementing the District’s Comprehensive Plan, overseeing school leaders, collaborating with Human Resources and the Personnel Committee, and serving as a liaison to student representatives to the school board, among other duties.
