QV Girls Swim Team Places 2nd at WPIAL Meet, Advances to States

At the 2A WPIALs at Upper St. Clair HS on 3/6:

The QVSA Girls 200 Medley relay team finished first and broke the school record.  (new record: 1:48:75 old record: 1:51.20)

Members:  Isabel Huang (SA), Rena Gilligan (QV), Emily Connors (QV), and Ella Fuener (QV).

 

The QVSA Girls 400 Free Relay also finished first and broke the school record.  (new record: 3:36:40  old record: 3:37.77)

Members: Emily Connors (QV), Halle Wagner (QV), Ella Fuener (QV), and Isabel Huang (SA).

 

WPIAL Medalists

Isabel Huang: 2nd place in the 200 Individual Medley…2:05.08-New School Record…Old Record (2:07.34)

Isabel Huang: 2nd Place in 100 Backstroke…55.92-New School Record…Old Record (58.13)

Emily Connors: 3rd Place 100 Butterfly…58.96-New School Record…Old Record (59.45)

Emily Connors: 5th Place 100 Freestyle

Rena Gilligan: 5th Place 100 Breaststroke

Ella Fuener: 8th Place 50 Freestyle

 

The QVSA Girls Team came in 2nd overall  - WPIAL Runner-up and this is the second straight section win for the QVHS Girls Swim Team!

Assistant Swim Coach:  Rose Stidson

 

This team will depart Leetsdale this Thursday for Cumberland Valley HS for the PIAA 2A Swim Championships.  The action begins on Friday, March 19th at 10:30 a.m.
