New Athletic Spectator Guidelines

The Quaker Valley Athletic Department has been working on  parameters to allow spectators at home outdoor athletic events while following the Allegheny County Health Department, PIAA, and WPIAL limits:

  • 25 individuals for indoor events
  • 250 individuals for outdoor events

The goal is to safely include as many spectators as possible at the competitions.  We know how important being a part of a team is to our students, and we are happy that we’re playing.  As a district, we will continue to work to ensure these opportunities occur within the guidelines provided to us by the Commonwealth and Allegheny County.

Social Distancing Guidelines

Spectators will be responsible for monitoring their symptoms.  If spectators have a fever of 100 degrees or higher, a cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste or smell, they must stay home.  COVID-19 resources can be found here.

All spectators are required to wear a face covering.  The Quaker Valley School District will follow guidance from both the Commonwealth and the PDE, regarding face coverings and masks.  This order applies to any individual aged two and older whenever outside the home, including while in school entities, including public K-12 schools.  For more on this order, click here.

  • No visiting team spectators permitted at this time.
  • No students (home or away) permitted at this time.
  • No tailgating is permitted.
  • Spectators are required to social distance by at least six feet at all times. Bleachers and other areas will be marked for social distance seating.
  • No standing. Every spectator must be seated.
  • There will be no concession stands at the competitions.
  • Only port-a-john units available. Masks must be worn when using.

Athletic Spectator Limits per team at Home Competitions

Each QVHS and QVMS athlete on the following teams will be given two passes for their fall season. No other spectators are allowed at this time.

  • QVHS Football
  • QVMS Football
  • QVHS Boys and Girls Soccer
  • QVMS Boys and Girls Soccer

Each pass will allow one adult 18+ (no students) into the specific team’s home games for this season. Students in 8th grade or younger are not permitted on the grounds of QVHS during an event unless they are with a parent.

Passes will not be replaced if lost.  No one will be able to enter the field area without this pass.  Pass holders should enter at the gate by the maintenance garage for the HS and at the ramp closest to the school for the MS.  Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of any game.  It is recommended that you only attend the game that your child is scheduled to participate in.  Spectators may only park in actual parking spaces.  Please do not park along the fence or in any fire lane.

* MS Soccer parents are encouraged to bring outdoor camp chairs due to the limited number of bleachers.

For Girls’ Volleyball, no spectators may attend at this time based on Allegheny County’s indoor gathering limit of 25 people.

For Girls’ Tennis and HS and MS Cross Country, Parents may attend home events.  No students will be permitted without being accompanied by a parent.

For Golf, parents may attend home matches and must keep to a distance required in golf, 25 yards.  No students will be permitted without being accompanied by a parent.  All guests are required to follow each course’s protocol.

If guidelines change, we will update the changes on our website.

Live Streaming

Quaker Valley Athletics is in the process of setting up equipment in order to live stream many sporting events through the NFHS Network School Broadcast System.  Until that is up and running, live-streamed games can be found at the QV Athletics YouTube channel.   In the event of technical difficulties, please check to see if you are accessing the most recent link listed for that event.  Please be patient with us as we are doing our best to adjust to the changes we are all experiencing at this time.

We will continuously strive to adhere to all local, state, PIAA, and WPIAL guidelines and appreciate your on-going support.  Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to keep our students competing safely in fall athletics.  Please contact the Quaker Valley Athletic office with any questions.

Go Quakers!!
