The Scholastics Art and Writing Awards are presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, a nonprofit organization that seeks to identify exceptional art and writing talents and present their work to the world. Across America, 320,000 original works were part of this celebration of talented students. The artwork is evaluated by judges for originality, personal vision and voice, and technical skill. Students can receive several awards in the regional section including Honorable Mention, Silver Key and Gold Keys for their work. Gold Key artwork is automatically forwarded to the national level for further consideration of awards which are awarded in March.
