QV Students Compete in the 69th Annual Western PA Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Milo Hasak, Genevieve Kain, and Grace Carver for participating in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s 69th Annual Western PA Spelling Bee, hosted by Robert Morris University on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

 

They were among 88 4th-8th grade students representing schools throughout Western Pennsylvania. Grace, a 5th grade student at Osborne Elementary School participated in the early rounds of the semi-finals. Milo, an 8th grade student at Quaker Valley Middle School, and Genevieve, a 5th grader at Edgeworth Elementary School, advanced to the final round of competition.

 

The winner of this event is awarded an all-expense paid trip to represent our region at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in May 2019.
