OS Kindergarten Orientation

We are so excited that your child will be entering the Quaker Valley Kindergarten program in the fall. To make this transition smoother, we would like to invite you and your child to attend Kindergarten Orientation. Each child is invited for one half-day session. Please refer to the information below regarding the specific date and time for your child’s session. Through Kindergarten Orientation, all kindergarten students will be able to learn about their new school, meet new friends, and ease their concerns about the bus, cafeteria, and classroom routines.  Your child’s day will include a story and craft, recess, a tour of the school, and a short ride on a school bus. There is no charge for the program, but please note that there will not be any bus transportation to or from the program. The cafeteria will be providing a free lunch for all incoming Kindergarten students attending. Parents may also purchase a lunch for $4.00. Please bring checks or cash only. Checks can be made payable to QV Café. It is important for all children and adults to be registered for this event in advance so we can ensure all meals are prepared. 

 

While your child is attending orientation, all caregivers will stay and attend a separate informational session with the kindergarten teachers. This session will provide information about the kindergarten curriculum. It will also include tips and games to use with your child throughout the duration of the kindergarten year. This is our first step in building a parent-teacher relationship that will benefit your child. 

 

Both the student and parent sessions will start and end at the same time. Parent and student sessions will be held in separate areas of the building. Please make childcare arrangements for other siblings.
