Quaker Valley's KD Quiz Team was successful in their attempt to qualify for KDKA's KD QuizSemifinals by winning their quarterfinal playoff matchup which aired on KDKA on June 13. You can watch a replay of the episode on Saturday, June 20 at 11:30 a.m. on KDKA. KD Quiz is an academic challenge hosted by KDKA chief meteorologist Ray Petelin.
The Quaker Valley team earned 365 points while defeating Mount Lebanon and Uniontown High Schools. This the 7th time in the last 10 years that Quaker Valley has reached the Semifinal Round of the show!
The Quaker Valley “on-screen” team is comprised of seniors Finnegan Musial, Charlotte Liao, and Katherine Linge. Seniors River Capek and Samy Ketata serve as team alternates. The team is coached by high school math teacher Matt Welch. With this win, Quaker Valley has secured a grant from GBU Life and will now move into the KD Quiz Semifinals in July. The air date of the semifinal playoff episode is not yet known but will be published when the schedule becomes available. Congratulations to the QV Team!
