Evaluation Process
Instructional decision-making at QVSD is a thoughtful, equitable process that prioritizes student need guided by student aptitude and achievement data. Multiple criteria across domains are analyzed to determine how to best meet the learning needs of students. Standardized tests, curriculum-based assessments, state assessments, and teacher observations and evaluation are considered. Based on each student’s profile, teachers make programming decisions to best meet their needs through grouping practices, differentiated instruction, and enrichment or acceleration supported by the academic specialists. Data collection and analysis is ongoing throughout the year. As student needs change, their academic programming adjusts accordingly.
