Quaker Valley is proud to share that Jared Jones, head coach of the boys and girls track and field programs, has been named PIAA/NFHS Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year for 2024-2025.
This state‐level recognition is a fitting honor for a coach whose leadership helped guide the Quakers to a historic season that will be remembered for generations.
"I am truly honored to receive this award and sincerely thank our student-athletes, assistant coaches, parents, administrators, and community members for their support,” said Jones. “Watching our athletes grow, persevere, and reach their potential has been an incredible privilege and inspiration. This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and spirit that define the Quaker Valley Track & Field program."
The 2025 track and field season will remain one of the most extraordinary in Quaker Valley history. Under Coach Jones’s guidance, both the boys and girls teams captured PIAA Class 2A state championships. The year’s success marked the first ever state title for both teams in school history. The boys team had previously earned state runner up.
For the boys, the state meet was nothing short of dominant; the Quakers scored 75 points, the highest total by any boys team in PIAA track & field history, regardless of classification. In addition, they set three school records at the state meet and finished the season with six new records and five second-best all-time marks.
The girls program, equally inspired by Coach Jones’s vision and leadership, made its own history by clinching its first-ever state title. Together, the two teams embodied the discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that define Coach Jones’s approach to competition.
“Coach Jones has continued to build on our rich track tradition at Quaker Valley,” said Athletic Director Mike Mastroianni. “His leadership, preparation, and care for his student-athletes are evident in everything he does. Guiding both the boys and girls programs to state championships and now being recognized by the PIAA as Coach of the Year is a remarkable achievement that reflects not only his talent as a coach but his character as a mentor and educator.
The PIAA’s Coach of the Year recognition honors not just competitive results, but the ability to develop student-athletes on and off the track.
In selecting Jared Jones, the PIAA cited his outstanding leadership of the Quaker Valley track & field program and the exceptional success of his teams.
Coach Jones’s dual leadership of both programs stands as a model of balance, preparation, and mentorship. His coaching philosophy, which is focused on daily improvement, team unity, and belief in collective potential, has transformed Quaker Valley into one of Pennsylvania’s premier track & field programs.
Coach Jones joins a distinguished group of 25 coaches statewide honored by PIAA this year for their impact in their respective sports. Quaker Valley extends heartfelt congratulations to Coach Jared Jones for being named PIAA Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year, and to all the student-athletes whose remarkable achievements made this recognition possible.
