Dear Quaker Valley Families,
This letter is to notify you of an issue today in which numerous districts throughout the area received a mass email threat. The threat provided was not specific and did not directly name Quaker Valley or any building within the District. It appears that this is a swatting event similar to those you may have seen on the news both locally and throughout the country.
Chief Vanatta has made contact with other police departments and received communication from the Pennsylvania Criminal Intelligence Center (PaCIC). At this time, PaCIC has no information to indicate that this is a credible threat. The PaCIC will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as warranted. As always we will heighten our security measures throughout the District. All threats to our schools are taken seriously. Students were not notified of this incident, and all classes and activities were able to proceed as scheduled.
The safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is always a priority at Quaker Valley.
