The Quaker Valley High School Math League team recently wrapped up a successful season as they finished in 2nd place in the Mathematics Council of Western Pennsylvania (MCWP) Team Finals. This result and appearance in the finals came after an undefeated regular season and 5th consecutive section championship.
The top 10 Programs in the league advanced to the MCWP Team Finals that were held at North Allegheny’s Baierl Center on Friday, April 21st. While approximately 25 Quaker Valley students participated in Math League Team throughout the year, the 6 students selected to participate in the team finals were Senior Milo Hasak, Junior Mia Strelec, and Sophomores Sienna Albano, Lea Mauer, Ryan Steinfurth, and Henry Zutter. Individually, Ryan Steinfurth earned 4th Place Honors for his Individual Regular Season Scoring Total out of the hundreds of students making up approximately 40 teams in the overall league. The Quaker Valley Math League Team is coached by high school math teacher Matt Welch.
