Two new QVHS Students Selected as School Board Representatives

The Quaker Valley School Board will welcome two new student representatives to the Board for the 2021-2022 school year. Congratulations to Sara Ruhl and Alex Fox, who have been selected to fill these roles. Current Board representatives, Gabriel Musial and Emma Pulkowski will continue through May while helping train Sara and Alex for their new roles.

Alex is active at QVHS taking part in eight clubs, including Key Club, Best Buddies, and Spanish Club. He works at Chick-fil-A and runs Spartan Races across the region. He says he wanted to be a student representative to the school board to get involved in the community, "However small an impact I may have, I wanted to play a role in the community, rather than sit back and hope other people solve the issues in our community and country on their own. I’ve been trying to volunteer through Key Club and look for opportunities to participate in the community. I saw this position as a perfect way to do so."

Sara says she enjoys public speaking and looks forward to giving back to her school and community, "I hope to assist the members of the school board and provide them with accurate and up-to-date information from students across the district, as well as my perspective."
At QVHS Sara is part of Key Club, French Club, Girl Up, Student Council, Best Buddies, NHS, and Peer Jury. She works at Tropical Smoothie and during her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Congratulations to Alex and Sara!
