QV Students Volunteer for Clean-Up Crew

Eight Quaker Valley students, who are part of the Environmental Science Internship, participated in a volunteer clean-up crew at Hunt Road on Saturday, Nov. 23. The property is owned by the Allegheny County Land Trust, and includes 28 acres of green space and protected space for plants and animals. The site once operated as a mink farm.

The volunteers gathered 1,920 pounds of scrap metal from the site, which was recycled at a scrap yard. They also recovered four tires that had been dumped in the area.

Great job to our students for their volunteer efforts to keep our community clean!
