COVID-19 Meal Drive-Through

The United States Department of Agriculture USDA has recently approved free breakfast and lunch meals for all children age 18 and under living in Quaker Valley School District through June 30, 2021.
All meals served at school and available at the drive-through service are free for all children ages 18 and younger. The children do not need to be enrolled in school at Quaker Valley School District, but they need to be QV residents. Registration is required each week by Friday at 10 a.m.
Pick-up is on Wednesdays 7:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Quaker Valley Middle School.
Students who are ordering lunch in person at school do not need to register ahead of time.
If you signed up for meals, please make sure to pick up those meals on Wednesdays. If you are having difficulty picking meals up, you can ask a neighbor or friend to do so on your behalf. Please contact Briana Halyak, Food Service Department Administrative Assistant, to notify if you do not intend to pick up your meals on any given week: email: or 412-749-5089.
Although meals are currently free, we strongly encourage parents to set up a school meals account to view their child’s a la carte purchase (snacks)/payment history, receive low balance alerts, and set up purchase restrictions. You can go to or download the app from your smartphone.

Frequently Asked Questions:
If you have a hybrid elementary student, are you still able to do a pickup just for the Wednesday meal?
Yes, students who attend elementary school on-campus four days a week can still pick up breakfast and lunch on Wednesdays. Please register for the meals each week.
If you have a hybrid student and sign up for meals, is the expectation that they pack the meal provided for that day? If the student is in hybrid classes, they will only get drive-through meals for the days they aren't in school. For example, a middle school hybrid student who registers for drive-through service will pick up three meals. Breakfast and lunch on days four and five will be served in the cafeteria during on-campus learning.
This is available for any student in the QV sending area including students at parochial schools, cyber/charter, homeschooling, etc.?
Yes, free meals are for any children living within Quaker Valley School District who are 18 years or younger. Students who are not attending Quaker Valley School District can pick up five breakfast meals and five lunches each Wednesday. Registration is required.
What do the students who aren't enrolled at QV do about a PIN?
If they don’t have a Quaker Valley PIN, they can provide their name, address, and birthdate.
When do I need to sign up for meals?
Registration is due by Friday at 10 a.m. for a pick up the following Wednesday.
