QVMS Giving Tree Program Items Need By December 12
The Middle School is excited to tell you that this year we will be hosting our 3rd Annual QVMS Giving Tree program. The Giving Tree is a Middle School based program to fulfill the wishes of QVMS families who need a little bit of extra support during the holiday season. The Giving Tree is on display in the lobby of the middle school. Families can choose to participate in this program as a “wish fulfiller” or a “wish recipient.” Wish Lists can be filled out online here. QVMS strongly believes in protecting the privacy of our families. Information regarding participation in the QVMS Giving Tree is highly confidential. QV Ink Newspaper Now Online
After years of being a print publication, QV Ink, Quaker Valley Middle School's student newspaper, is now online at www.qvink.org. With the new digital medium, QV Ink will be able to report on a wider variety of stories, as the paper can publish them in a more timely manner. QV Ink is currently looking for writers, photographers, and story ideas. The group meets on Mondays after school from 3-4 p.m. Any middle school student can join! EdTalk - December 13 (at Edgeworth)
The Quaker Valley School District invites you to an evening of Adult Education. Please join us on Tuesday, December 13 at Edgeworth Elementary School from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Three guests will each have 20 minutes to present their chosen topic, followed by a 30-minute coffee where audience members will have the opportunity to share and discuss their thoughts, and speakers will be available if people have questions.

Holiday Dance - Friday, December 16
The Student Council is sponsoring a Holiday Dance on Friday, December 16 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the middle school gym. Students may NOT leave early unless picked up by a parent/guardian. Admission is $5.00 and unlimited ice cream is $5.00.

School-wide Positive Behavior Themes
QVMS implements a School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (SWPBIS) program. Each month, we focus on a different character trait with lessons and special recognitions aligning to a theme. view the monthly themes
After-School Homework Club
Quaker Valley Middle School provides after school homework support via a “Homework Club” program. The program is run by Mrs. Tracy Shaffer on the dates and times listed below. If your child struggles to complete homework or just needs a little extra time at school to get work completed, they are invited to attend Homework Club. If your child is a car-rider or bus-rider, parents/guardians are responsible for picking up their child from Homework Club in a timely fashion.
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM
Dates: October 18, 20, 25, 27; November 1, 8, 10, 15, 17, 29; December 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20. Additional dates will be scheduled after the new year.
Club BEST meets on Wednesdays after school
Club BEST is a group that meets to investigate ideas through science and engineering. Any student interested in competing in engineering challenges, investigating crime scenes through forensic science, learning more about NASA missions, or just tinkering with scientific ideas is encouraged to attend weekly after school on Wednesdays until 4:30 p.m. If interested, see Mrs. Shaffer for details and a permission slip.
