Kennywood Ticket Sale - April 26
The Quaker Valley Kennywood Picnic is on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017. Kennywood FunDay Passes will be sold at the middle school on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. FunDay Passes are $28 each - cash or money order only. No personal checks will be accepted. $2 from each pass benefits Quaker Valley activities, arts and athletics. 7th Grade Field Trip Forms Due April 28
Students in 7th grade will be going on a field trip to Phipps and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History on Monday, May 8. The permission form and payment are due Friday, April 28.
Softball Skills Camp - April 29
The Quaker Valley High School Softball team is offering a skills camp for all ages at QVHS on Saturday, April 29 from 1-3pm. High-school Head Coach, Anthony Ross, his coaching staff, and HS players will teach the fundamentals of the game including hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, base running & pitching. Our goal is to stimulate a love for the game. All ability levels are welcome. Registration fee is $45. Space is limited. Please register by sending an email to email@example.com.
Kiva 5K Sponsors Needed
Quaker Valley Middle School is looking for sponsors for the third annual Kiva 5K on Friday, June 2. Kiva is a non-profit organization that allows people to lend money to low-income/underserved entrepreneurs and students in over 70 countries. In the past two years, QVMS has raised more than $10,000 to donate to Kiva. Organizers are looking for sponsors to donate money, gift basket items, and student participants. Click here to learn more. Project Zero Researcher Parent Talk - May 11 (at middle school)
On Thursday, May 11, during the Project Zero Perspectives Conference, Daniel Wilson, the Director of Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education will speak to parents about seeing the impact of Project Zero in their children. QV Ink Newspaper Now Online
After years of being a print publication, QV Ink, Quaker Valley Middle School's student newspaper, is now online at www.qvink.org. With the new digital medium, QV Ink will be able to report on a wider variety of stories, as the paper can publish them in a more timely manner. QV Ink is currently looking for writers, photographers, and story ideas. The group meets on Mondays after school from 3-4 p.m. Any middle school student can join!
