Bibliographies, Parenthetical Citations and Annotations
What every student and educator needs to know!
Quaker Valley School District uses the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 7th Edition as a guide to documenting and citing sources for all school projects - written, electronic, artistic and or any other works.
Academic integrity is the responsibility of all educators and students. Using a formal process to provide documentation of work with parenthetical citations and a bibliography / works cited is the first step to understanding the principles of ethical research.

Understanding Parenthetical Documentation
There are many different electronic resources on the Internet to create bibliographic and parenthetical citations.
These "citation makers" do a great job helping to create a bibliography, however not all follow the MLA, 7th edition format guidelines.
The QVSD formatting guide above is the only tool one needs, however, the following electronic tools are of good quality.
Before publishing or completing a school project, no matter how big or small, please ask the school librarian for help with the bibliography, annotation and parenthetical citations.
The school librarian is more than willing to look over a final product and give help and assistance.
