Welcome to Quaker Valley High School

Quaker Valley High School is a very unique and special learning environment that affords its students an extraordinarily comprehensive curricular program that is individualized to meet the needs of all students, “One Child at a Time.”  While our school offers a wealth of opportunities for our students, we are also mindful of our relatively small size, and we try to take advantage of that with a personalized approach to teaching and learning.

Our faculty is motivated to instruct our students through approaches that will prepare them to be lifelong learners and ethical, responsible citizens of the 21st century.  They are trained to use best practices for instruction that are further enhanced by cutting edge technology.  The majority of our faculty have earned advanced degrees, and 10 of our teachers are National Board Certified Teachers (the largest percentage in the state of Pennsylvania).

Quaker Valley High School has a long history of accreditation through the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools, we have been awarded a National Blue Ribbon of Excellence, and our model counseling program is the first high school program in the state to receive RAMP status by the American School Counselors Association (ASCA).  This type of recognition speaks to the quality of the programs offered in our school.  One such program is our Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum.  High enrollment in our AP courses, coupled with our students’ outstanding performance on the AP exams have led to our school being consistently recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one of the “Best High Schools” in the United States and number one in the region.  Other programs such as college dual-enrollment, Cisco Academy, Pre-AP, Carnegie Learning, SSLC, entrepreneurship, and award winning arts and athletic programs (to name but a few) also support a holistic approach to education that is geared toward 21st century success in college and the world of work.

While Quaker Valley High School has been recognized for many academic, athletic, and artistic accomplishments, we are most proud of the culture that exists on our campus.  Our faculty and staff care deeply for children, we have a diverse population, which allows for the implementation of creative ideas, and our students show compassion, kindness, and empathy for one another.  Our students respond positively to the individualized programs we design for them.  An example of our “One Child at a Time” philosophy is our use of Arena Scheduling.  This is a college style scheduling process in which we allow our students to make their own schedules by choosing their classes and their teachers.  We believe in doing whatever it takes to see that our students have an educational program that meets their needs.  Quaker Valley High School is committed to providing our students with an education that can be “measured against the world’s best.”
