Professionals with degrees in the “Humanities/History” areas will be addressing students who are interested in these areas of study on Thursday, March 5 from 10:00–11:00 a.m. in the QVHS Library. Professionals on the panel include:

National Honor Society Meeting - March 5
A mandatory meeting for all National Honor Society members will be held after school on Thursday, March 5. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria and last until 3:30 p.m. Topics will include the end of the year calendar, the next blood drive, and Mr. QV.
Boys Basketball PIAA Playoffs - Saturday, March 7
Fairview vs. Quaker Valley at Edinboro University on Saturday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m in the first round of the PIAA playoffs. Go Quakers! map/directions
Brave American Classic 5K / 10K - March 7
QVHS graduate Rob Veltre is organizing the 4th Brave American Classic 5K & 10K Races and 1
mile walk to benefit the Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors (bouldercrestretreat.org
). The races and walk will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 at St. Stephen’s Church, 405 Frederick Ave., Sewickley. The cost is $25 in advance or $30 on race day for the 5K, $40 in advance or $45 on race day for the 10K and $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the event for the walk. HSA Meeting Rescheduled for March 11
The High School Home and School Association (QVHS HSA) will meet on Wednesday, March 11 from 8:45-10:50 a.m. in the high school conference room.
QV Café Bakery Spring Orders Due by March 13
QV Café Bakery is taking orders for a spring bake sale. Spring Sugar Cookies ($8.50/dozen), Lady Locks ($9.50/dozen) and Nut Rolls ($16.50 each) are available for purchase. Senior Citizen Dinner and Musical Performance - March 18
Quaker Valley is proud to host an upcoming senior citizen dinner and performance of the QVHS Musical 'The Drowsy Chaperone' on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Dinner begins at 4:30 p.m. in the QVHS Cafeteria followed by the performance. The cost of the dinner is $6. The money will be collected at the door. Transportation will be provided from Edgeworth and Osborne Elementary Schools, Union Aid Apartments on Centennial, and the Leetsdale Senior High Rise. iCan Bike Program Coming in July - Donations Needed
Through the efforts of Quaker Valley Learning Support teachers Lauren McGuirk and Jason Harrison, the iCanBike@QV program camp is coming to Quaker Valley Middle School from July 27-31, 2015. This weeklong summer session helps those with physical limitations achieve their greatest bike riding ability. Their hope is to make the camp free for each student who attends. To make that happen, about $10,000 has to be raised. The money will provide camp tuition, t-shirts, a water bottle and more to 20 students. Donations are now being accepted online. read more

Students entering 10th-12th grade next school year have the option of taking Physical Education and/or Health & Wellness online this summer instead of during the 2015-16 school year.
