2017 Commencement Speakers and Poet Laureate Submissions Due April 3
QVHS will select several honored speakers and one Poet Laureate to participate in the June 5th graduation ceremony. Students must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to be eligible for consideration. Speeches and poems must be submitted electronically to Mrs. Riccobelli at firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:00 p.m. on April 3. NHS Blood Drive - April 4
The National Honor Society and the American Red Cross will be sponsoring a Blood Drive at Quaker Valley High School on Tuesday April 4th from 8:00 to 1:30 pm. Please consider supporting this blood drive and the National Honor Society Blood Drive Scholarship by donating blood. Your blood donation can save people's lives! Screenagers Documentary - April 20 at QVMS
The High School, Middle School and Osborne HSA, and Edgeworth PTA are hosting a free showing of the documentary Screenagers on Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the middle school auditorium. Kennywood Ticket Sale - April 26
The School Picnic at Kennywood Park will be held on May 29th. Tickets will be on sale at the High School on April 26 from 11:00 – 11:30.
Poetry Expo - April 28 at Sewickley Library
Off-Beat! is a literary magazine collaboration between QVHS (Bittersweet) and Sewickley Academy (Ephemera). A youth art and poetry expo will be hosted at the Sewickley Public Library on April 28, 2017 with Poetry Reading, Open Mic, live performances, art, games and activities.
Prom 2017: A Red Carpet Affair - May 19
The QVHS Junior class is excited to inform you about this year’s Prom, A Red Carpet Affair, to be held on Friday, May 19, 2017, from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. This year’s theme is the students’ interpretation of Hollywood, The Oscars and film with entertainment, dancing, and fun for all who attend. The community tradition of the Grand March Promenade, as the opening event for the evening, will begin in our high school auditorium and the Prom will continue at the Embassy Suites Hotel® Pittsburgh Airport in Moon Township. Quaker Valley Education Foundation Scholarships Available
The Trustees of the QUAKER VALLEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION are offering as many as five $3000-$5000 scholarships (payable in four approximately equal annual installments) to QV graduates who are financially deserving, have a strong work ethic, have good grades, and will undertake a Math, Science or Engineering program in college. Join the Marching Band for 17-18
Students interested in joining the Quaker Valley High School Marching Band: “The Pride of Quaker Valley” for the 2017-2018 season should make note that Band Camp 2017 will be held July 30-August 4. Without exception, students must be available for the entirety of Band Camp in order to be eligible for membership in the group. Registration will be open online at www.qvsdmusic.com from April 24-May 19.
