Attention Parkway Students and Families
Parkway will resume classes on Thursday January 2nd and Friday January 3rd even though Quaker Valley School District is on Holiday break until January 6th. Students will be transported to Parkway from their regular bus stop in the morning and taken back home after Parkway classes on January 2nd and 3rd. Any questions regarding transportation should be directed to John Demkowicz at 724-318-8535.
Senior Coffee - December 19
The Office of Collegiate Affairs will be hosting a Senior Coffee during second and third periods on Thursday, Dec. 19 in the library. The Senior Coffee is a great opportunity for current seniors to meet with QV alumni from the Class of 2013 to hear about their college experiences and to answer any college related questions. Interested seniors must sign up in the Office of Collegiate Affairs/Guidance Office.
Bittersweet, a literary and art magazine written, edited, and published by students, is accepting submissions of student poetry, prose, photography and visual art. Students should email their work to Mrs. McGrath at email@example.com.
Cuba Travel Opportunity During Spring Break
Do you know what you’ll be doing in five months? Do you want to practice your Spanish with native speakers? Consider traveling to Cuba over spring break! We will visit the capital city of La Habana, meet with community members, local artists, musicians, students, educators and visit the Martin Luther King Center as well as explore the Santo Tomás Cavern and tour the capital city of Old Habana. Math League Team Results
The Math League team earned first place at the November competition at Freedom. The team, composed of students in grades 9-12, is currently in first place in section 6. In addition, they are in first place in the entire Western PA Math League standings. Congratulations to all team members and good luck as they look to continue their winning ways toward the playoffs in April. Individual top scorers include: Axel Gross (12 points), Kathryn Wroblewski (9 points), Parker Redcross (8 points) and Andrew Warburton (7 points).
Nine QV students named to Parkway West CTC Director's List
Congratulations to the following QVHS students who earned Director’s List distinction for the first quarter at Parkway West Career & Technology Center: Lucas Conrad, Dakota Cox, Cameron Diewald, Raven Giedl, Zachary Mancuso, Brandy Peoples, Joseph Popowich, Michael Scimio and Zoe Wanto. To earn Director’s List status, students must have an A in their CTC program, receive their teacher’s recommendation, earn at least a B in their academic subject (if they are enrolled in one), and have no suspensions within the nine week grading period.
