Join Club 5210 at the YMCA
All 3-5 graders with a BMI greater than 85% are invited to join Club 5210 at the YMCA. They play games, learn about nutrition and take part in fun physical activities such as swimming, soccer and even yoga. The program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 5:15 p.m. from February 17-May 5. Space is limited. Lab Ratz held Tuesdays through Feb. 3
Lab Ratz Science Club, an after-school science program for students in grades 1-5, meets every Tuesday from 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. through Feb.3. Participants will explore basic science concepts through fun hands-on experimentation and creative problem solving. learn more

Writer's Workshop begins February 5
Osborne Elementary is again offering Writer's Workshop. The program takes place on Thursdays, February 5-26, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., and is available to all students in grades one through five. Valentine's Parties - February 13
Valentine's Day Parties will be held on
Friday, February 13. As a reminder, all parents/guardians volunteering for the party must have their volunteer clearances and badges. Parties for kindergarten are from 12:45-1:45 and grades 1-5 from 2:15-3:15. Please make sure you have your events etc. organized with your homeroom parent.

Kindergarten Round Up: February 16-20 at Edgeworth
The annual Kindergarten Round Up for incoming Quaker Valley kindergarten students and their families will be held February 16-20, 2015, at Edgeworth Elementary School. Families will complete the registration process and meet with several school community members, including a teacher, librarian, assistant school nurse and parent association representative. To schedule a Kindergarten Round Up appointment, contact Diane Hess, student information specialist, at 412-749-5095. Appointments, which last approximately 30 minutes, are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. more info

Girls on the Run starts February 23
The spring session of Girls on the Run will start February 23rd for girls in 3rd-5th grade. It will take place at Osborne every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00. Osborne's RESPECT Wall
Our students now have a new way to shine! We are looking for students who truly model and show respect above and beyond. When a student is awarded a RESPECT Star he or she will receive a certificate from a teacher or staff member, will be recognized during morning announcements and have their picture taken and displayed on their own “star" on the RESPECT wall. To receive a star you must: Remember Everyday to Smile, be Polite, make Eye contact, be Caring and Talk nicely.

Running Club
Mr. Noyes is offering a Running Club at 8:00 a.m. through May 1, 2015 to help students prepare for the Kids of Steel program and the Pittsburgh Kids Marathon on May 2, 2015. Running Club is not held on 2-hour delay days. Visit the Running Club page for the schedule and to register for the marathon.
