HSA Winter Service Project
The Osborne annual HSA winter service project began on December 10, 2014 and goes until Tuesday, December 23. This year we will raise money to benefit a program at Children's Hospital called Beads of Courage in honor of our friend and classmate, Owen Galluzzo, who passed away on August 10, 2014. Owen benefited from this wonderful program as do thousands of sick children around the country and the world. To honor Owen's memory we will be "Ringing the Bells for Owen" each morning and afternoon. We will ask students to donate to this wonderful program by dropping money into our boxes each morning as they enter the building. This money will be donated to the Beads of Courage program. In addition, we will create "get well" cards for patients at Childrens' Hospital.
Osborne Blast smoothies available at Salúd Juicery during December
Osborne gARTen Club students Ainsley Lumanog, Sydalia Wygant, Aleisha Ford, Stella Christensen, Ellie Sabo, and Mia Perel created the award-winning Osborne Blast smoothie with the help of Salúd Juicery co-owner Seth Zimmerman. All 5th grade gARTen Club members participated. Their creations were judged through a blind-taste-test by Mrs. Sopp. The ingredients include apple, banana, blueberry, strawberry, kale, spinach, and coconut water. The cost is $6.99 for the regular size and $4.99 for the petite. 10% of all sales will be donated to the gARTen Club. Salúd Juicery is located at 348 Beaver St. (in the Village). The hours are: Monday- Friday 7:30am-6pm, Saturday: 9am-5pm and Sunday: Closed. A big thank you to Salúd Juicery & Seth Zimmerman, all the 5th graders for their thoughtful creations, and Mrs. Sopp for her super tasting. view photo
Osborne’s RESPECT Wall
Our students now have a new way to shine! We are looking for students who truly model and show respect above and beyond. When a student is awarded a RESPECT Star he or she will receive a certificate from a teacher or staff member, will be recognized during morning announcements and have their picture taken and displayed on their own “star” on the RESPECT wall. To receive a star you must: Remember Everyday to Smile, be Polite, make Eye contact, be Caring and Talk nicely.
