Schoology Parent Overview Sessions 10/24 & 11/1
Schoology is Quaker Valley's new learning management system. Beginning in the second trimester, parents will access assignments, calendars, and communication via this site. Sandra Calgaro, QVSD Technology Coach, and Susan Gentile, Director of Instruction and Learning, will present the Parent View of the Schoology site and answer questions regarding Schoology. Parents are invited to attend any session.

Fall gARTen Club Session 2 Starts 10/25

EdTalk Adult Education - October 26 (at Edgeworth)
The Quaker Valley School District invites you to an evening of Adult Education on Thursday, October 26, at Edgeworth Elementary School from 6:30-8 p.m. Two guests will each have 30-minutes to present their chosen topic. This hour will be followed by a 30-minute coffee where audience members will have the opportunity to share and discuss their thoughts and the speakers will be available if people have questions. We are happy to announce the following speakers:

Fall Festival - Friday, October 27
Osborne's Fall Festival is scheduled for Friday, October 27. The parade around the track begins at 2:15 p.m., followed by classroom parties until 3:25 p.m. Please dress appropriately for the weather. All costumes should be appropriate, and may not include any look-a-like or pretend weapons.

Community Storywalk - November 4 (at Edgeworth)
Join us at the fall storywalk and explore the shapes in our world on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Edgeworth Elementary School. The storywalk is a community event hosted by the Quaker Valley kindergarten teachers. Stories and activities are geared toward children ages 3 – 8. All children that attend will receive a new book. Room Full of Heart Wish Lists Due November 6
This year Osborne Elementary is looking to make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community. We are continuing Osborne’s seventh annual “Room Full of Heart,” a fundraiser to help collect various items for families in need during the holiday season. We will be specifically focusing on our community and the needs of its families. Every family at Osborne is asked to return the “wish list” form by November 6 to either request a donation, make a donation, or decline to participate. Room Full of Heart Wish List
Veterans Day Social & Program - November 10
Osborne Elementary School is planning a brief program to honor our local veterans & current military personnel on Friday, November 10, 2017. There will be a coffee and donut social at 9:15 a.m. in the large group room, followed by the program at 10:00 a.m. in the gym. Any member of your family who has served or is currently serving our country is invited to attend, along with a spouse or guest. If you plan to attend, please fill out the form below and return it to the school office no later than Monday, November 6, 2017. Veterans Day invitation form
International Festival - November 17
Come celebrate our first International Festival on Friday, November 17 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Bring your family and join us for food, crafts, songs, art, music, games, and fun.
Do you have something from your culture, a place you love, or an activity that is important to you that you would like to share with our school community? Do you dance the cha-cha or play the djembe? Make empanadas or love to eat them? Please share your talents and traditions! Would you consider hosting a table? Bring your inspiration and creativity! Tables can include any combination of food, dress, decoration, art, music or other things that highlight a culture or special tradition.
