Spelling Bee - February 1
On February 1, select fourth and fifth graders compete in the Scripps School Spelling Bee. The purpose of the Spelling Bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
Family Fun & Fitness Night - February 2Kindergarten Roundup Parent Meeting - February 8 at Osborne
The Osborne HSA presents Family Fun & Fitness Night on Friday, February 2 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The HSA & Mr. Noyes will open the gym for family fun with volleyball, basketball, rock wall, scooters, gym mats, and Wii dance party on the stage. From 6:30-7:00, you can move and grove with the participants of after school REFIT. The cardio dance program puts the fun in fitness. Join us for 30 minutes of power-packed routines that are easy to catch on to and fun for the whole family. Come check out the REFIT community.
There will be a Kindergarten Roundup for 2018-19 informational meeting for parents on Thursday, February 8 at 6 p.m. at Osborne Elementary School. Registration packets will be distributed at this meeting.
Polar Ball Dance - February 9Kindergarten Roundup: February 20-23 at Edgeworth
Osborne 3nd graders present a Polar Ball Dance on Friday, February 9 from 6:30-8:00 in the Osborne gym. The cost is $3 per person and all proceeds go to the International Polar Bear Foundation. Kindergarten Roundup for the 2018-2019 school year is scheduled for February 20-23, 2018 at Edgeworth Elementary School. Call 412-749-5095 to register.Prospective kindergarten students and their parents or caregivers are urged to attend Kindergarten Roundup. Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2018 can be registered for kindergarten during roundup.more info / register

Mr. Noyes offers a Running Club to help students prepare for the Kids of STEEL
program and the Pittsburgh Kids Marathon
on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Running Club will be held from Monday, November 13, 2017 until Friday, May 4, 2018 from 8:00-8:40 a.m. The schedule is as follows: Monday - Grades K & 1; Tuesday - Grade 2; Wednesday - Grade 3; Thursday - Grade 4; Friday- Grade 5. Blessings in a Backpack Program Now Available
The Blessings in a Backpack program is a new program available to all students at Edgeworth and Osborne Elementary Schools. This program provides non-perishable food every Friday so children have nutritious meals over the weekend. Blessings in a Backpack works with each school's guidance counselor to ensure bags are distributed in a discreet and caring manner. There is no cost associated with this program. If you would like your child to receive blessings in a backpack each Friday, please contact Mrs. Christina Wawrzyniakowski at Osborne Elementary School or Mr. Joseph Villella at Edgeworth Elementary School.
